Cop & Cats

"The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center.  Their mission is to place rescued cats and kittens into loving, permanent homes; to provide a safe, happy and healthy home for unwanted cats and kittens in a unique, no-cage facility; to prevent pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering; and to educate the public about responsible pet ownership."  - From the official Cat House on the Kings website.

Officer Dean Taw visits the sanctuary a few times a year to volunteer his time and energy.   He grooms, cuddles and plays with the cats and kittens, scoops poop, cleans, sweeps, and mops, and in general ensures that the shelter is clean and the animals get all of the affection and socialization they need.  Cats need attention and TLC - Officer Taw is a never ending well.

The sanctuary is Officer Dean Taw's "happy place".

Kissing the cop.

I guess so.

I arrived late at night with Officer Taw before the photo shoot the next day.
